Willowdean Smith Childress, 81, of Mammoth Cave, KY,departed this life on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at her  daughters’ residence. The Edmonson County native was born June 15, 1933 to the late Ernest O. Smith and the late Mary Edna Rich Smith and was the wife of the late Georgie O. Childress. She was a retired teacher for Lincoln and Kyrock Schools and was a member of Green River Eastern Star and Union Light Missionary Baptist Church.

She leaves to honor her memory-- four daughters, Elsie Lee Taylor of Mammoth Cave, Christine Brooks of Mammoth Cave, Rita Taylor (Bill) of Bowling Green and Jenean Hampton (Rick) of Mammoth Cave; one son, Georgie Lyle Childress (Brenda) of Mammoth Cave; three sisters, Pearl Elmore of Mammoth Cave, Anna Lou Rigdon (Arvil) of Louisville and Estelene Webb (Lonard) of Mammoth Cave; two brothers, Nelson Smith and Harlon Smith (Betty) both of Mammoth Cave; nine grandchildren; six special grandchildren; ten great- grandchildren; three special great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.  She was preceded in death by one brother, Arthur Smith; one granddaughter, Andrea Taylor; one great- grandson, Payton Smith; one son-in-law, Victor Taylor.

Burial will be in Union Light Church Cemetery with Bro. Ronald Renfro officiating.
