William W. “Bill” Douglas

1935-2023

William W. “Bill” Douglas, age 87 of Chalybeate, departed this life on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at Medical Center of Bowling Green. The Edmonson County native was born on February 27, 1935 to the late Rev. Willie and Charlotte Elizabeth “Lottie” Douglas. He was married to Wanda Cassady Douglas, who survives.

Bill worked as a foreman for Holly Carburetor. He was a member of Mt. Zion United Baptist Church, served our nation in the U.S. Navy and was a member of the Washington Meredith Masonic Lodge #355 F&AM.

Besides his wife, he leaves to honor his memory— his daughter, Vickie Vincent (Toby) of  Chalybeate, Regina Douglas of Bowling Green and Lora Webb (Red) of Whitesville; grandchildren, Brooke Morris (Ashley), Nathan Vincent (Kristen), Amanda VanMeter, Tyler Meredith (Stephanie), Morgan White (Shawn) and Jacob Webb; sister, Carolyn Douglas; brother, Mac Douglas and fourteen great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters.

Interment will be at Poplar Springs Church Cemtery.
