Wiley N. Willis, age 94, of Brownsville departed this life on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at his residence. The White Star, KY native was born on  October 18, 1921 to the late T. Edmond Willis and Sarah Alvarro  Posey Willis.  He was married to Eva Scott Willis, who preceded him in death.

He was  retired from Essex Wire Corp. and later was the owner of  Willis Café, started the Edmonson Co. Ambulance Service, refurbished several homes in the community, traded in used cars and had Wiley’s Market.  He was a WWII Army Veteran where he received the Bronze Star; Purple Heart; American Campaign Medal; EAME Theater Medal with one Silver Service Star; Army of Occupation Medal with Germany clasp; the World War II Victory Medal , the Good Conduct Medal and the French Medal of Honor.  He was a member of Pleasant Union United Baptist Church, Commander Wand B. Doyle Chapter #32 DAV, State Commander of DAV in 1984, Nisbet Alexander Memorial Post # 6937 VFW and Washington Meredith Masonic Lodge # 355 F&AM.

He is survived by two daughters, Patricia Shaheen (Shaheen) of Houston, TX, Linda Hamrick (Steve) of Ft. Wayne, IN; one son, Russell McCann of Ft. Wayne, IN; five grandchildren, Robin McCann, Sindy McCann, Gary Marchal, Jr. (Janice), Mary Ann Dubiel (Eric) and Beth Clawson (Mark) ; nine great grandchildren, Holly Carr (Shawn), Andrew Griswold, Kylie Clawson, Evan Clawson, Eva Dubiel, Samantha Snell, Nicholas Snell, Crystal McCann and Brandon McCann; three Great Great Grandchildren, Autumn Buss, Tara F. Carr and Hailey Carr; one brother, Russell Willis (Elizabeth) ; one sister, Beatrice Howard and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one grandson, Dean McCann.

Masonic service will be conducted by Washington Meredith Masonic Lodge # 355 F&AM, 7pm, Wednesday, May 18, 2016.

Memorial contributions may be made to Wand B. Doyle Chapter #32 DAV, Pleasant Union United Baptist Church  or  Hosparus.

Interment will be in Brownsville Cemetery with military honors by Barren County DAV Chapter 20.
