Wanda Parsley

Wanda Parsley, age 91 of Cave City, peacefully departed this life on Monday, March 10, 2025, at The Medical Center at Caverna. The Edmonson County native was born on September 3, 1933, to the late Carl and Clora Davis Alford.

Wanda was an esteemed member of the Fairview United Baptist Church and the Rio Verde Eastern Star, where she built lasting friendships. Known for her tireless work ethic, Wanda embraced a variety of roles throughout her life. She gained valuable experience working for both the Mammoth Cave Garment Company and the historic Mammoth Cave Hotel. Her culinary talents shone brightly during her time as a cook at Hart County Healthcare and Caverna Independent Schools, where she prepared nourishing meals for those patients and students in her care. In addition to her endeavors in the food industry, Wanda also engaged in dairy farming, cultivating a deep connection with the land and animals. Her commitment to hard work extended to cleaning homes, where she created welcoming spaces for numerous families. Wanda's diverse experiences reflect her unwavering dedication to her work, family and community.

She leaves to honor her memory—her children, David Parsley (Sandy), Pat Weaver (Bart) and Chris Parsley (Carol) all of Cave City; grandchildren, Bartley Weaver of Tampa, FL, Blake Weaver (Raesha) of Glasgow and Payton Parsley of Cave City, and her great-grandchildren, Brinley, Xander and Maple Weaver. She was also preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Marlene and D.O. Slaughter.
