1970 - 2015

Wallace “Wally” Herndon, Jr., age 45, of  Brownsville, KY, departed this life on Saturday, June 6, 2015 in  Elizabethtown, KY.  The Manassas, VA native was born on February 4, 1970  to  Wallace Gordon Herndon, Sr.  and Beverly Ann  Blake  Herndon .

He was  a retired district manager for the Social Security Administration , an Army Special Forces veteran  of Desert Storm and Desert Shield and a member of Poplar Spring United Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Amanda Herndon of Brownsville, KY; one daughter, Rachel Herndon Rainey (Gregory) of Lexington, KY; parents, Wallace and Beverly Herndon of Culpeper, VA and one sister, Carrie Herndon of Culpeper, VA and several nieces and nephews.   He was preceded in death by one sister, Lisa Herndon King.

Interment will be in Culpeper National Cemetery, Culpeper, VA.  Bro. Jerry Vincent will officiate at the funeral service at Poplar  Springs United Baptist Church.

Memorial contributions may be made to Rachel Rainey for travel expenses to Culpeper, VA.
