Virginia Ruth Keith Alexander

January 14, 1939 — November 20, 2021

Virginia Ruth Keith Alexander

Virginia Ruth Keith Alexander, 82, entered into rest on November 20, 2021, at home in Brownsville. She was born January 14, 1939, to the late Veachel and Gertrude Keith. She was married to the late Linden Alexander.

Though she left school to begin working at age 14, Virginia owned several successful businesses during her life, including Pig General Store, Park City Truck Stop, and Virginia’s Frame Shop, and managed Top Value Redemption Centers in Kentucky and Georgia. Virginia Ruth worked hard, and fiercely loved her children and grandchildren, her ten brothers and sisters, their spouses, and many nieces, nephews and friends. Her home was opened many times to help out family and others who needed a place to live. She enjoyed decorating, repairing and landscaping her homes, cooking for her family,  and allowed no obstacle to get in her way when she wanted to learn some new skill for home or work. She was member of Brownsville Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include her children, Sheila Durbin (Dennis) of Sunfish, Annette Ray of Bowling Green, Allen Ray (Terri) of Bowling Green, and Brian Alexander (Mandy) of Bowling Green; her grandchildren, Jeremy T. Durbin (Shannon), Beth Britton (Aaron), Emily McGuire (Michael), Ethan Durbin (Sabrina), Jefty (Jay) Meredith, Kaitlyn Leber (Nick), Kalea Hudson (Adrian Collins), James Thomas, Joseph Ray (Linzy), Tesla Logsdon (Chris), Madison Alexander, Bryleigh Alexander; step-grandchildren Sirena Taylor (Scott), Robby Trussell (April), Skye Johnson and Jesse Johnson (Mary); nineteen great-grandchildren; two sisters, Elsie Cassady of Franklin and Katherine Meredith of Land O Lakes, FL; sister-in-law, Dorothy Keith, along with  several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Anita Ruth Ray; step-daughter Patricia Alexander Vincent; brothers, Thorton, Jerry, Helm, Ruben, Arthur, and Thomas Keith; sisters, Martha Curtis and Jo Taylor.

Interment will be in Lambert Cemetery.
