Troy Hooker

He was born August 6, 1946 in Harrisburg, Illinois to Harvey Edward and Hester Mae (DeMaris) Hooker.

He was married to Judith Lois Mezo of McLeansboro on April 17, 1971 at Pinckneyville, Illinois.

He grew up in the Dorrisville area and attended and graduated from Dorrisville School. He also attended HTHS. His early years included working on a riverboat, Del Monte, Spartan Printing and then for General Motors for 38 plus years before his retirement in 2007 from the Bowling Green Corvette Plant. He enjoyed his family, friends, outdoors and flying.

He is survived by his wife, Judith Lois (Mezo) Hooker; three daughters, Kristina Alice Coop and her husband Les, Joetta Lynn Hooker and Neal Blondin both of Smiths Grove, KY and Angela Renee Bright of Bowling Green, KY; two sons, Kevin Dewayne Hooker and his wife Tabitha of Owensboro, KY and Michael Mezo and his wife Marline of McLeansboro, IL; eight grandchildren, Khristopher Leviner, Rachael Renae Collins, Casey Dylan Coleman, Riley Judith Hooker, Kevin Dawayne Hooker, Jr., Jonathan Hooker, Olivia Hooker and Jillian Hooker; two great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn Collins and Kaleb Collins and numerous nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters, Frances Hayes-Stone, MaeBelle Brown, Maudie King and Opal Nadine in infancy; four brothers, Donald King, Lester King, Estel King and John King.

Visitation will be 3:00 pm-8:00 pm Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at Patton Funeral Home Brownsville Chapel and 2:00 pm-8:00 pm on Wednesday at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro, IL. Funeral service will be 1:00 pm Thursday, October 10, 2013 at Gholson Funeral Home Chapel, 500 S. Washington St., McLeansboro, IL. Burial will be in the Odd Fellow IOOF Cemetery.

Memorial contributions can be made to Saint Jude Children's Hospital
