Thelma Childress

Thelma Jean Childress, 88, of  Cub Run, KY passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at her home.  She was a homemaker and a member of Stockholm United Baptist Church.

The Tippecanoe County, Indiana native was born May 15, 1925, the daughter of the late Dock "D.P." Williams  and  Mary Eliza Childress Williams and was married to Bro. Lelan Childress for 68 years.

Besides her husband, she is survived  by one daughter, Pauletta Sanders (Nelson) of Mammoth Cave, KY; two sons, Ronnie Childress (Sally) and Mark Childress both of Cub Run, KY; three brothers, Thurman Williams of Shepherdsville, KY, R.A. Williams of Hardyville, KY and Loron Williams (Doris) of Louisville, KY; two sisters, Myrtle Thompson of Mammoth Cave, KY and Betty Newton of Bardstown, KY; one daughter-in-law, Joni Childress of Louisville, KY; eleven grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren and four step great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, Randy Childress.

Burial will be in the  Stockholm Church Cemetery with Bro. Keith Sanders officiating.  Patton Funeral Home Brownsville Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
