1927 - 2022

Texie Colley, age 95 of Chalybeate, departed this life on Thursday, November 17, 2022 at her residence. The Edmonson County native was born on October 19, 1927 to the late Acie and Annie Cooke Carroll. She was married to the late Lowell Douglas Colley.

Texie was a natural born caregiver.  She worked with her hands to care for her  family and others that were in need.   She was very meticulous about her lawn, garden and flowers, and loved being outdoors working or riding her golf cart and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She was a member of Hubsfield Holiness Church.

She leaves to honor her memory— two sons, Moran Meredith (Brenda) of Bee Spring and Cary Dale Meredith (fiancée Melissa) of Chalybeate; eleven grandchildren, Amanda VanMeter, Tyler Meredith (Stephanie), Joie Meredith, Jarrod Meredith (Rachel), Michelle Yoebstl, Missy Lack (Alan), Aaron Meredith, Timmy Ashley, Terry Ashley (Kim), Todd Ashley (Wanda) and Stacy Ashley, along with several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Besides her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by her children, Jerry D. Meredith and Linda Ashley; a grandson, Randy Meredith and siblings, Sherman, Wavie, Marlow, Ray, Elba and Randell Carroll, Truly Carroll, May Lashley and Effie Lashley.

Interment will be in Hubsfield Church Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to:  Hubsfield Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Arlen Blanton.
