Sol E. Ashley, age 80 of Brownsville, passed away January 28, 2008 in Brownsville. He was born August 28, 1927 in Edmonson County to the late Ruben and Alene Coates Ashley. He was a heavy equipment operator for TVA and Operators Engineers #181,World War II Air Force Veteran, a member of Shively Eastern Star #566 O.E.S., Washington Meredith Masonic Lodge # 355 F&AM, Scottish Rite, Kentucky Colonel, New Home General Baptist Church and attended Brownsville General Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Edotha "Dot" Luttrell Ashley; daughter, Kathie Nelson (Ken) of Owensville, IN; two stepsons, Calvin Holt (Becky) and James Anthony "Tony" Holt of Brownsville; two brothers, Harold Ashley (Elizabeth) and Charles Ashley (Elaine) of Brownsville; one sister, Georgia Mae Herald of Cave City; sixgrandchildren and one great grandchild. He was also preceded in death by son, Ronald Ashley; one daughter, Patricia Ashley; stepson, Alvin Holt and brother, Ruben Ashley, Jr. Services will be officiated by Bro. Jerry Spainhoward and Bro. Lhebanon Huff with military rites by Nisbet Alexander Memorial Post # 6937 VFW at New Home Church Cemetery.
