Shaylee “Bug” Hogan, age 8 of Chalybeate, departed this life on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at The Medical Center in Bowling Green. The Chalybeate native was born on August 20, 2014 to Chase and Stephanie Hogan.

Shaylee enjoyed playing games such as Roblox, Minecraft and watching YouTube on her tablet and phone. She loved watching her FGTeeV shows, her snacks and Sprite (or as she liked to call it her “smacks and spray”) and was always wearing her rain boots or Crocs.  Wherever Shaylee was at she would always make people around her smile and laugh, and she dearly loved her extra family at South Edmonson Elementary and Hopebridge. She  attended Holly Springs Baptist Church.

Besides her parents, Chase and Stephanie, she leaves to honor her memory—a sister, Sia Ann Hogan; maternal grandparents, Barry and Pauline Lay of Chalybeate; paternal grandparent,  Suzanne Alexander (David) of Virginia; great-grandparents, Gwendolyn Kerchee of Mt. Park, OK and Paul Campilongo (Gene); a special aunt, Tylerann Lay; two aunts, Fallon Willoughby (Sean) and Becky Langston; an uncle, Chris Langston (Kellie); and several cousins, great-aunts and uncles. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Richard Hogan; and great-grandmother, Margaret Jackson.
