Ruth Hawkins

Ruth Hawkins, 86, of Brownsville, KY, departed this life on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at her son's residence in Park City.  The Edmonson County native was born on August 24, 1927 to the late Clyde Noah and Beulah Ellen Renfro Ray.  She was the devoted wife of 67 years to Junior "J.V." Hawkins, until he preceded her in death on October 10, 2013.

She was homemaker and a member of Beaver Dam Chapel United Baptist Church.

She is survived by two sons, Dennis Hawkins (Mary) of Park City, KY and Larry Hawkins (Marsha) of Pig, KY; six grandchildren, Tammy Atwell (Russell), Christy Dunn (Frank), Jarrod Hawkins (Beth), Laura Houchens (Chris), Jason Hawkins (Courtney) and Lisa Bale (Les); seven great-grandchildren, Morgan Atwell, Alex Hawkins, Tyler Atwell, Julia Hawkins, Jackson Houchens, Alana Houchens and Ava Bale; one brother, Luther Ray (Charlotte) of Chalybeate, KY and one sister, Carole Sanders of Bowling Green, KY.  She was preceded in death by two sisters, Clydene Ray and Betty Beckner, and one brother, Eldon Danny Ray.

Burial will be in the Hawkins Cemetery with Bro. Wayne Toms officiating.
