Roma Slaughter, 70, of Rhoda, KY, passed away Wednesday, February 5, 2014 in Bowling Green, KY. The Edmonson County native was born January 26, 1944, the son of the late Roma Thomas and Lora Elsie Vincent Slaughter and the husband of Carrie Doughty Slaughter, who survives. He was a retired machine operator for Holley Carberator and a member of Beaver Dam United Baptist Church.
Besides his wife he is survived by one sister, Margaret Orton (Bobby) of Lexington, KY; six nephews, Mike Slaughter (Jean), Myran Slaughter (Lindy), Terry Slaughter (Teresa), Jimmy Adwell, Ronnie Adwell (Shelly), Tim Van Meter (Shelly); one niece, Sherrie Yearty; two great-nephews; ten great-nieces; several cousins and many friends. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Lewis and Donald Slaughter and two sisters, Evelyn Slaughter and Vida Van Meter.
Burial will be in the Belle Key Cemetery with Bro. Vernon Johnson and Bro. Jerry Patton officiating.
