Robert Mason

Robert "Pop" Mason, 96, of Sweeden, KY, died Saturday, April 3, 2010 in Louisville, KY.

He was born September 6, 1913 in Charlotte Co., VA to the late Arthur Burton Mason and the late Florence Hamlett Mason.

He was the husband of Wanda W. Mason of Sweeden, KY and was a retired Master Sargeant in the Army and a veteran of WWII, Korean War and Vietnam War.  He was a Kentucky Colonel and a member of Washington Meredith Masonic Lodge # 355 F&AM and Sweeden Missionary Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Wanda W. Mason of Sweeden, KY; daughter, Kathy Wahman (Donnie) of Louisville, KY; son, Bobby Mason (Daphney) of Farmsville, VA; sister, Margie Matthews of Blackstone, VA; four grandchildren, Jeremy Wahman (Theresa), Joseph Wahman, Monty Mason (Pamela) and Chris Mason (Angela) and four great grandchildren.

Masonic Service will be conducted by Washington Meredith Masonic Lodge # 355 F&AM, 7:00pm, Monday, April 5, 2010 at the Patton Funeral Home Brownsville  Chapel.  Burial will be in the Sweeden Church Cemetery, Tuesday, April 6, 2010 with full military honors.
