1936 - 2021

Raymond Kenneth Blanton, age 84 of Chalybeate, departed this life on Friday, March 26, 2021 at The Medical Center at Bowling Green.  The Edmonson County native was born on July 10, 1936 to the late Joseph “Joe” and Lavinia Priddy Blanton.  He was married to Delphia Graham Blanton, who also preceded him in death.

Raymond was a U.S. Air Force veteran.  He retired as a salesman from Wickes Lumber Company, and previously worked as a security guard for Guards Mark.  He was a member and former trustee of Otter Gap Missionary Baptist Church, and a member of Washington Meredith Masonic Lodge #355 F&AM.

He leaves to honor his memory-- three sons, Robert Blanton, Danny Blanton and Terry Blanton (Sherry) all of Chalybeate; four grandchildren, Sean Blanton (Nikki), Taran Blanton, Danielle Blanton and Chase Blanton and eight great- grandchildren.  Besides his wife and parents, he was also preceded in death by his daughter, Elsie Renea Blanton; two brothers, John Henry and Otis Blanton and three sisters, Lavern Watt, Wilo Dean Rich and Marie Windham.

Interment will be in Otter Gap Church Cemetery.
