Percy Minton, age 83, of Sweeden, KY, died Monday, April 6, 2009, at his residence. He was a self employed painter, WWII Navy Veteran, member of Nisbet Alexander Memorial Post 6937 VFW, Cattleman Association, served on the Board of Directors of Edmonson County Farm Bureau and was a member and deacon of Brownsville Missionary Baptist.
He was the son of the late Hobert and late Zonie Vincent Minton.
He is survived by: wife, Juanita Minton of Sweeden, KY; one daughter: Beth Vincent (Donnie), Sweeden, KY; one son: Rev. Grant Minton (Tonda), Auburn, KY; three sisters: Virgie Woosley (Kenton), Bowling Green, KY, Betty Ann Raymer, Brownsville, KY, Billie Gray Prall (John), Henryville, IN; one brother: Howard Minton, Brownsville, KY; five grandchildren, Matthew Grant Minton (Michelle), Brandon Phillip Minton (MacKenzie), Katlyn C. Vincent, Marc Adam Clark, Andrew Tyler Clark; one great-grandchild, Jaxon Matthew Minton.
Arrangements are being handled by Patton Funeral Home Brownsville Chapel where the family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, April 8, 2009, and from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Thursday, April 9, 2009. Funeral service will be at Brownsville Missionary Baptist Church at 11:00 AM, Friday, April 10, 2009, Bro. Grant Minton, Bro. Calvin Bond and Bro. Richard Minton officiating. Burial will be in the Sweeden Church Cemetery with military rites by Nisbet Alexander Memorial Post 6937 VFW.
