1928 - 2020

Oneta Meredith Ashley, age 91, of Lindseyville, KY departed this life on Friday, July 24, 2020 at her residence. She was born on August 15, 1928 in Edmonson County to the late Jim Brite and Cora Vincent Meredith. She was married to the late Odell Ashley.

Oneta was a former assistant for Dr. S.E. Farmer; worked at J.C. Penney and was a seamstress  for many family and friends over the years. She was saved as a young girl at New Salem Baptist Church, and was a faithful member of Midway United Missionary Baptist Church, where she had a beautiful alto voice, and enjoyed singing in the choir.

She leaves to honor her memory-- three daughters, Teresa Simpson (Curt) of Bowling Green, Janis Langdon (Charles) of Lindseyville and Jennifer Toms of Smiths Grove; four grandchildren, Heather Browning (Brian), Michele Lindsey, Kish Browning (Julie) and Matt Langdon (LouAnn); six great-grandchildren, Tori Mudd (Jordan), Chaney and Chandler Browning, Jack and Addison Browning and Vincent Langdon; two brothers, Jimmy Meredith (Ruby) and Donald Ray Meredith; special caregivers, Lisa, Cheryl and Shirley along with several nephews, nieces and friends. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Eddie and Warner Meredith, Avil Vincent, Lillian Lowe and Ivil Saltsman and son-in-law, Philip A. Toms.
