1933 - 2021

Norah Rea Decker Meredith, age 88 of Bee Spring, KY departed this life on Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at Genesis Health Care Edmonson Center. The Edmonson County native was born on April 16, 1933 to the late Tomie and Ida Thompson Decker. She was married to Walter Meredith on February 13, 1951.

Norah Rea was a homemaker and a farmer for much of her life.  In her later years, she was employed as a cook at Park Mammoth Resort and Linda’s Restaurant.  She also worked at the Edmonson County Public Library and was a Foster Grandparent at Kyrock Elementary School.

Norah was saved on November 17, 1960 as she read the Bible sitting in her rocking chair.  She was baptized and joined Bee Spring Missionary Baptist Church.  On February 18, 1967 she joined Jock United Baptist Church by credit of letter, where she remained a faithful member until death.

She leaves to honor her memory— two children, Gary Walter Meredith (Darlene) of Louisville and Carrie Ellen Ragland (Garry) of Bee Spring; four grandchildren, Brittany Mabrey (Richard), Corey Keith (Brookee Payton), Toby Meredith and Colton Ragland; four great-grandchildren, Alivia and Mason Mabrey, Kayden Keith and Axl Meredith; a daughter-in-law, Donna Meredith Gozia (Mike); son-in-law, Rick Keith (Janet) and dear brother-in-law, Curt Duvall. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Carla Eden Keith; two brothers, Dennie and Wilburn Decker and two sisters, Candis Johnson and Cleo Duvall.

Interment will be in Jock Church Cemetery.
