1938 - 2016

Melvin Meredith, age 78, of Mammoth Cave, departed this life on Saturday, February 13, 2016 at his residence. The Edmonson County native was born on January 17, 1938 to the late James Monroe and Dora Stinson Merideth. He was married to the late Cova Meredith and Joyce Meredith, who survives.

Melvin was a retired truck driver for Williamette Industries.

Besides his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Deborah Garrett (Johnny) of Shepherdsville, Tammy McCain (Bill) and Felishia Reavis (Steven) of Louisville; one son, Quinn Meredith (Donna) of Mt. Washington; one brother, Arthur Merideth of Elizabethtown; two stepsons, Michael Rutter and Carl Rutter of Floyd Knobs, IN; eight grandchildren, four step grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.

Interment will be in Hill Grove Church Cemetery.
