Maurice Kelly Parsley, age 83 of Sweeden, passed away Friday, September 26, 2008 in Bowling Green. He was born October 12, 1924 in Edmonson County to the late Ralph and Annie Stephens Parsley. He was a World War II Army veteran,the former owner of Parsley Chevrolet and bailiff for the Edmonson County Sherriff Department,a charter member of Edmonson County Lions Club, first chairman of the Edmonson County Industrial Community, former board member of Brownsville Deposit Bank, former Brownsville City Councilman and a member of Brownsville Missionary Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife Mary Parsley of Sweeden; one son, Steve Parsley (Phyllis) of Brownsville; two daughters, Tammy Childress (Walt) of Bowling Green and Stephanie Dennison of Bowling Green; six grandchildren, Stephanie McCurdy (Chris) of Knoxville, Scott Parsley of Brownsville, Julie Howard (Wayne) of Bowling Green, Kyla Houchins (Kip) of Chalybeate, Derek and Emily Dennison of Bowling Green; three great grandchildren, Christian Howard, McKenna and Garrett Houchins; two nieces Betty Houchin (Ed) of Brownsville and Evelyn Minton of Louisville. He was also preceded in death by one son, Richard Dennison. Services will be officiated by Bro. Calvin Bond with burial in the Fairview Church Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association.
