Mary Ashley

Mary C. Ashley, 86, of Bee Spring departed this life on December 20, 2013.  The Edmonson County native was born on August 20, 1927 to the late Amos and Lula Hisel McGrew and was the wife of the late Carl L. "Sal" Ashley, Sr.

She retired from Brownsville Day Care and was a member of Bee Spring Missionary Baptist Church.

She is survived by three sons, Charles Damon Ashley (Vonda), Mark Ashley (Theresa) of Bee Spring and Ray Allen Ashley (Lola) of Mammoth Cave; seven daughters, Pat Poteet (Billy) of Bee Spring, Carolyn Saling (Kenneth) of Bee Spring, Mary Helen Pate of Bee Spring, Pam Durbin of Sweeden, Jeanette Kirby (Richard) of Bowling Green, Martha Booth of Brownsville and Maxine Yvonne White of Brownsville; one half sister, Virginia Grimes of Louisville; two brothers, Marvin McGrew (Laverne) of Glendale and Joe McGrew (Wanda) of White Mills; twenty-five grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Carl L. Ashley, Jr., one grandson, Travis Poteet and one brother, Berthel L. McGrew

Services will be officiated by Bro. Malcolm Doyle with burial in Bee Spring Cemetery.
