Martin Shields

Martin P. "Duncan" Shields, age 88, of Brownsville, KY, died Saturday, July 30, 2011, at Hospice Center of Southern KY in Bowling Green, KY. The Butler County native was born November 17, 1922 to the late George Robert Shields and Lola Lewis Childress Shields. He worked in construction and was a farmer. He was a member of Brownsville Missionary Baptist Church, a charter member of Wand B. Doyle DAV #32 and served in World War II in the Air Force.

He is survived by his wife: Nelda Lindsey Shields, Brownsville, KY; one daughter: Sharon Shields, Gainesville, FL; two sons: Darrell Shields (Rachel), Rocky Hill, KY; Sammie Shields, Bee Spring, KY; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Bro. Calvin Bond will be officiating the services with interment at Brownsville Cemetery, Brownsville, KY with military graveside by Nisbet Alexander Memorial Post #6937 VFW.
