Lois B. Hogan Turner, age 91 of Brownsville, peacefully departed this life on Wednesday, August 22, 2024 at her residence. The Jefferson County, KY native was born on August 2, 1933 to the late Elias Ward and Candis Roe Parsley Blair. She was married to the late Woodrow Hogan, and the late Elvis L. “Bud” Turner, Sr.
Lois was a homemaker and lovingly cared for the needs of her family. She was a member Pleasant Union United Baptist Church, Holly Hobby Homemakers and was a Rebekah in the Green River Order of the Eastern Star.
She leaves to honor her memory— her children, James Ellis Hogan (Alisa) of Owensboro, Casey Hogan of Brownsville, Charlie Turner (Shirley) of Indianapolis, Elvis Turner, Jr. of Indianapolis, Candy Grayson (Ed) of Oakland and Amy Elmore (Billy) of Brownsville; eighteen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren, and several great-great grandchildren. Besides her parents and husbands, she was also preceded in death by her children, Woodrow Billy Hogan and Lois Jean Lowe; grandchildren, Joseph Shawn Hogan, Erin Turner York, Brett Robertson and Shawn Allen Sanders; siblings, Gertrude “Trudy” Maddox and Joseph Allen Blair and nephew, DeVoe Maddox.
Interment will be in Pleasant Union Church Cemetery.
