Linda Jo James-Murphy, age 49 of Brownsville, passed away Wednesday June 22, 2011 in Brownsville. She was born July 31, 1961 in Edmonson County to Roger and Shirley Carroll James and was the wife of the late David Lynn Murphy.
She was a former Director of Social Services at Edmonson Care and Rehab Center and a member of Pleasant Union United Baptist Church and attended Hillview Heights Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Dana Jo Marr-Hudson (Richard) of Rockfield; one son, Jeremy Scott Marr of Central City; Parents, Roger and Shirley James of Brownsville; two sisters, Sheila VanMeter (Sam) of Brownsville and Laura Kemble (James) of Brownsville; one brother, David James of Brownsville; six grandchildren, Stephen McKinney, Tyler Hudson, Seth Hudson, Shawn Hudson, Destiny Jo Marr and Dyllan Marr; sister-in-law, Trena James; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and a host of friends. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Thomas Ray James and grandparents, Rumsey and Beulah James, Herald and Nora Carroll.
Services will be officiated by Bro. Vernon Johnson with burial in the Oak Hill cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Edmonson Health Care Activities Fund 813 S. Main St. Brownsville, KY 42210.
