Leonard Childress, age 77, of Rocky Hill departed this life on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at his residence. The Edmonson County native was born on January 31, 1937 to the late Clell and Myrtle Lindsey Childress and was married to Clara Barnes Childress, who survives.
He was a retired from Southern States, a farmer and a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, he leaves to honor his memory- one daughter, Lesa England (David) of Falls of Rough; one son, Gary Childress of Louisville; one stepson, Doug Martin (Shenna Poynter) of Cave City; two step grandchildren, Amanda Sturgeon (Nickolas) and Jason Martin (Lisa) both of Cave City; three brothers, Lannie Childress (Janice) of Rocky Hill, Alton Childress (Joyce) of Sunnyside, and Wayne Childress (Kathleen) of Rocky Hill; three sisters, Edna Jordan of Glasgow, Virgie Brown of Russellville and Leoda Childresss of Rocky Hill and three step great-grandchildren.
Burial will be in Rocky Hill Cemetery with Bro. Billy Vincent officiating.
