Laverne Sanders

Laverne "Sally" Sanders, 84, of Mammoth Cave, Ky, died Tuesday, December 27, 2011 in Bowling Green, KY.  She was born May 24, 1927 in Edmonson Co., KY to the late  Melvin Childress and  Lena Wilson Childress and was the wife of the late Clarence L. Sanders.  She was a homemaker, retired housekeeper for Campbell Hausfeld and member of Green River O.E.S. # 577 and  Union Light Missionary Baptist Church.

She is survived by one son, Steve Sanders (Becky) of Alvaton, KY; two daughters, Ann Jaggers (Billy) of Louisville, KY and  Maria Moser (Gary) of Elizabethtown, KY; three brothers, Robert A.Childress of  Louisville, KY, Alvin Childress (Edna) of Chalybeate, KY and Wilbur "Red" Childress (Georgrbel) of Cub Run, KY; two sisters, Leda Childress (Kenneth) of Louisville, KY and Geraldine Wood of Bowling Green, KY; seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.  Burial will be in the Union Light Church Cemetery with Bro. Malcolm Doyle and Bro. Steve Stith officiating.
