Lavana Minyard Duff, age 86 of New Grove, KY departed this life on Monday, July 9, 2018 in Bowling Green, KY. The Barren County native was born on August 16, 1931 to the late Hurl and Pearl Stice Minyard.

Lavana was a seamstress for Brownsville Manufacturing, Bandy Bedding and also worked at Edmonson County High School as a library aide where she was affectionately known as “Ms. Mamaw”. She was also a member of  New Grove Missionary Baptist Church.

She is survived by one daughter, Katherine Gipson (Albert) of Sweeden; three grandsons, Jason Decker (Jennifer) of Brownsville, Mark Decker (Mary) of Glasgow and Scott Decker (Sarah) of Pig; ten great grandchildren; three brothers, Nelson Minyard of New Grove, Kenneth Minyard (Kathy) of Rhoda and Johnny Minyard (Loretta) of New Grove; three sisters, Mary Jane Anderson of Smiths Grove, Katrina Sue Neighbors of Oakland and Diane Tarter (Ervin) of Pig.  She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Ed and Charles Minyard and one sister, Norma Jean Minyard.

Interment will be in Hawkins Cemetery.
