Larry Dale "Toe Joe" Davis

1969 - 2022

Larry Dale “Toe Joe” Davis, age 52, of Wingfield departed this life on Friday, January 28, 2022 at his residence. The Edmonson County native was born on October 16, 1969 to late James Carlos and Flossie Magalene Kinslow Davis.

Toe Joe worked as a self-employed contractor.  He and his siblings, Lora Gale and Vonitta, were saved in a revival in July 1982 that Bro. Amos Crenshaw, Bro. Charles Deweese and Bro. Dave Taylor were holding at Wingfield United Baptist Church, and he remained a member there until his passing.

Toe Joe enjoyed fishing and building things.  His life was an open book.  He wasn’t superficial, and never portrayed himself as being a perfect man, or above his upbringing. He truly loved his family, and was very loyal and true to those he loved the most.  His greatest joys in life were his children and grandchildren.

He leaves to honor his memory-- his wife, Glenda Barger Davis; his children, Brittany Davis (Joshua) and Nick Davis (Jodi) all of Brownsville; three grandchildren, Eli Jent, Kaylee and Kassie Garrett; five siblings, Ronnie Davis (Linda) of Brownsville, Anna Ruth Bray of Chalybeate, Kennie Davis (Patricia) of Glasgow, Vonitta Brumit (Malcolm) of Bowling Green and his twin sister, Lora Gale Large (Mike) of Chalybeate, along with several nieces, nephews and extended family  members. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brothers, Donald Lee Davis and Lonnie Wayne “Roundhead” Davis.
