LaDonna Childress

LaDonna Childress, age 61 of Mammoth Cave, departed this life on Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at The Medical Center at Bowling Green.  The Warren County native was born on April 24, 1962 to the late Gilbert and Jewell Cardwell.  She was married to her devoted, loving husband, Lawrence Childress, who survives. 

 

LaDonna worked for many years as a waitress at The Hill Top and several of the local restaurants.  She always worked hard, wore a friendly smile and loved sharing a good laugh with those she served.  LaDonna was a member of Stockholm United Baptist Church. 

 

Besides her husband, Lawrence, she leaves to honor her memory— two daughters, Jamie Lindsey (Brian) of Bee Spring and Rebecca Childress of Mammoth Cave; granddaughter, Hayley Lindsey of Bee Spring; three brothers, James Cardwell, Donnie Cardwell and David Cardwell (Margie); five sisters, Frances Lovins (Gordon), Darlene Wright (Jim), Anna Atwell (Robert), Marketta Denham and Amy Sampson, along with several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, and her sisters, Virginia Rountree and Catherine Johnson. 

 

Interment will be in Stockholm Church Cemetery.
