Kay Hurt, age 68 of Smiths Grove, peacefully departed this life on Wednesday, October 17, 2024, at the Hospice House of Southern Kentucky. The Jefferson County, KY native was born on August 30, 1956 to the late Harold Newby Jordan and Thelma Joyce Doyle Jordan. She was married to her loving husband and help mate of forty-four years, Mark Hurt, who survives.
Kay was a true, Christian lady whose heart was deeply rooted in her love for the Lord. Her compassion extended beyond her immediate family, as she took great joy in helping others. A devoted member of Bethel Independent Baptist Church, Kay found solace and strength within her community of faith, and she shared this strength generously with those around her. As a homemaker, Kay treasured her role in creating a warm and loving home. She had a passion for cooking, and loved to share delicious meals and make everlasting memories around her table.
Kay leaves behind her beloved husband, Mark Hurt, who stood by her side through every joy and challenge; her sister, Cheryl Sanders (Simon), along with several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brother, Ricky Jordan.
