Karen W. Briggs

Karen W. Briggs, age 65 of Cave City, passed away on Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. She was born on May 5, 1958 in Louisville, KY to the late James Howard and Ruth Laverne Ross Wright. Karen was married for 47 years to William Briggs, who survives.

Karen worked for many years as a customer service representative at RR Donnelley.  After her retirement, she became the clerk for the City of Park City. She was a member of The Way Church in Horse Cave. Karen was an endless optimist; showed grace to everyone she met, and will be remembered for the joy she spread to others throughout her journey here with us.  

Besides her husband William, she leaves to honor her memory— her daughters, Angela Briggs of Glasgow and Ashlee Dennis (Justin) of Park City; grandchildren, Zach Driver of Glasgow and Eli and Ava Dennis of Park City; siblings, Pam Glaab (Don) of Linwood, Beverly Bennett (Johnny) of Hardyville, Howard Wright (Kathy) of Linwood, Dave Wright (Sandra) of Cub Run, Kevin Wright (Carla) of Linwood, Timmy Wright (Mary) of Bon Ayr and Tony Wright (Rachelle) of Munfordville, along with many other extended family members and friends.

Memorial contributions can be made in Karen’s name to: Samsonville Square, a real world therapy center designed to help stroke victims, or to T.J. Mission Foundation.

Interment will be in Cave City Cemetery.
