Johnny Toms

Johnny McKinley Tomes, 85, of Cave City, KY, died Friday, June 25, 2010  at Hart Co. Health Care in Horse Cave, KY.  He was born November 19, 1924 to the late Tommy Toms and the late Ruby Thompson Toms and was the husband of Martha Jean Toms.  He was the owner of Toms Shell Station and Cave City Dollar Sore and he was a Courier for BB&T.  He was a  Cave City Councilman for 22 yrs. and a member of the Cave City Church of Christ.  He is survived by his wife, Martha Jean Toms of Cave City, KY; one son, Dennis Toms (Lavinia) of Cave City, KY; two daughters, Peggy Burd of Cave City, KY and Pam London (Greg) of Horse Cave, KY; one brother, Leon Toms of Louisville, KY; one sister, Geneva Mattingly of Elizabethtown, KY; twelve grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by one daughter, Kay Toms.  Burial will be in the Cave City Cemetery with Owen Solomon officiating.
