John Morris "Jack" Lane, Jr.

1935 - 2022

John Morris “Jack” Lane, Jr. of Brandon, FL, departed this life on February 2, 2022.  The Edmonson County native was born on March 12, 1935 to John Lane, Sr. and Chlorene Lane.

Jack was a U.S. Army veteran.  After graduating from Western Ky. University, John began an education career teaching math in Warren County, Ky.  He went on to hold assistant principal positions at Fairdale, Durrett and Butler High Schools in Jefferson County, KY.  John was also an athlete and coached baseball & basketball.  During retirement John loved family trips, exploring Florida, and following the activities of his grandchildren.

He leaves to honor his memory— his daughter, Martha Diaz (Christian);  step-children, Tammy Young and Joey Young; grandchildren, Dylan and Dominic Martin; step-grandchildren, Iriana and Nicolas Diaz; his sister, Marian Lane Webb of Oldham County, KY, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless loving friends. He was preceded in death by his loving wife and partner, Elizabeth Aline Davenport.

Interment will be at Brownsville Cemetery with graveside military honors by Nesbit Alexander Memorial Post #6937 VFW.
