John Bennett, Sr

John B. Bennett, Sr., age 86 of Louisville, passed away Thursday, October 23, 2008 in Louisville. He was born February 24, 1922 in Warren County to the late Porter and Flossie Wingfield Bennett. He was a retired oiler for P. Lorillard Tobacco Co., a member of Walnut Street Baptist Church and a World War II Army Veteran. He is survived by five grandchildren, James Raymond Kersey and Laura Lynn Kersey of Texas, David Dean Grindstaff, Christopher Bennett (Venessa) and Michael Bennett of Louisville; three great grandchildren Breanna, Sadie and Raylyn Bennett; daughter-in-law, Carol Fincher (Paul) of Louisville. He was also preceded in death by a son, John B. Bennett, Jr., stepson, James Kersey, brother, Fred Bennett and a sister, Geneva Hayes. Services will be officiated by Bro. Calvin Bond with military rites at Kinser Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Hosparus 3532 Ephraim McDowell Dr. Louisville, Kentucky 40205.
