Jewel Ashley

Jewel (Bert) Ashley, age 88, of Bee Spring, passed away Saturday, September 5, 2009 in Brownsville, KY. She was born May 9, 1921 to the late Edd Stewart and to the late Elva Conway Stewart and was married to the late Bert Ashley. She wasa member at Sweeden Missionary Baptist Church and was a housewife. She is survived by four sons, Frankie Ashley (Sharon Kay) of Brownsville, KY, Michael Ashley (Ruth Kay) of Mayfield, KY, Minor Ashley of Sweeden, KY, Timmy Ashley of Cub Run, KY; one daughter, Martha Meredith of Sweeden, KY; two brothers, Larry Stewart of Bowling Green, KY, Earl Steward (Maggie) of Louisville, KY, one sister, Dot Rich of Sweeden, KY. She was preceded in death by one daughter, June Houchin; two sisters, Kay Barnes, Viola Stewart; one brother, Howard Stewart. Services will be officiated by Bro. Frankie Tennison with burial in the Sweeden Church Cemetery.
