Jessie Reed

Jessie Mae Reed, 100, of Brownsville, KY, departed this life on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 in Bowling Green, KY. The Edmonson County native was born on December 20, 1912 to the late George and Lula Spillman McCombs. On July 7, 1931 she married her lifelong companion of 57 years, Cortland Reed, who preceded her in death on January 13, 1988.

Ms. Jessie retired from teaching school after dedicating 28 years to the students and staff of Edmonson County Schools. She was saved on December 5, 1925 and was the oldest member of Brownsville Missionary Baptist Church. She was a true Christian example for others to follow.

She is survived by her sister, Joyce Webb of Bowling Green, KY; three nephews, five nieces, and several great nieces and great nephews.

The funeral service will be officiated by Bro. Jimmie York and Bro. Calvin Bond with burial in the Brownsville Cemetery.
