He is preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Nancy Carolyn Bush; one daughter, Nancy Bush Williams and one step-granddaughter, Lanie Williams.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his devoted wife of 49 years, Muriel Skinner Bush; two sisters, Olive Toms (Frank), Cheryl Harlow (Doug); one daughter, Wendy Bush Clark (John); two grandchildren, John Jay Clark (Stephanie) and June Katelyn Clark; his previous son-in-law, Alan Williams, and three step-grandchildren, Lacie, Kelsie and Kyle Williams. A host of nieces, nephews and friends also mourn his passing.
Jerry made a career in sales and marketing that spanned four decades, and enjoyed sports his entire life. As a young man, he excelled in basketball, but all competitive sports were of major interest to him. He loved his family, especially his children and grandchildren, and was active in their lives. He always enjoyed life. Later in life when Pop accepted Jesus as his Savior, he gave liberally, and always enjoyed being with people. He seemed most at home when in a group of friends and/or family. When his family was young, outdoor sports were a big part of camping trips, and boat outings during the summer months. Indoor athletics were practiced when the weather turned cold. He devoted more than thirty years to the Kentucky High School Athletic Association as an official in basketball, football and softball leagues. He also officiated at college and adult levels, for both men and women. He was instrumental in the formation of the popular Winn-Dixie Streetball Showdown, founded in Louisville more than two decades ago.
The family wishes to extend their appreciation to Dr. J. Wesley McConnell and his staff for their compassionate care and requests that expressions of sympathy be sent to the American Lung Association.
Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Park City, KY with Bro. Howard Jones officiating.
