Jean Audra Ramsey Belcher, age 85 of Salem, IN, departed this life on Saturday, November 30, 2024 at the family homestead, where she was born. Her loving siblings unselfishly cared for her needs, and surrounded her bedside as the Lord called her home. The Edmonson County native was born on May 17, 1939 to the late Jesse Frank and Lillie Mae Dugger Ramsey. She was engaged to her fiancé, Monty G. Williams, until they were parted unexpectedly by his passing.
Jean dedicated years of her life to working as an accountant at New Holland, a role that undoubtedly shaped her professional journey. Eventually, she took a bold step to pursue her dreams by starting her own construction company, J.B. Construction, showing incredible determination and resilience along the way. Her faith was an important foundation in her life; she found salvation as a young girl at Ollie United Baptist Church. Above all, Jean cherished the moments spent with her family, finding genuine love and joy in their times together.
She leaves to honor her memory— her granddaughter and great grandson, Tiffany Napoli (Kyle DeWolf) and Rowan David DeWolf of Orlando, FL; siblings, Loretta Hamblin (Luther) of Floyds Knobs, IN, Ruth Thompson of Cave City, Anita Richardson of Rowletts, Cecil Ramsey (Becky) of Mammoth Cave, Shirley Jaggers of Mammoth Cave, Romie Ramsey of Henryville, IN, Bro. J.C. Ramsey (Jonell) of Cub Run, Drucilla Dennis (Wayne) of Cub Run, Bobby Ramsey (Debbie) of Smiths Grove, Stanley Ramsey (Shelley) of Elizabethtown and Faye Thompson (Danny) of Cub Run, along with several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and fiancé, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Phyllis Darity; siblings, Wayne Ramsey, Agnes Fields, Alice Harper and Frances Ramsey and her nephew, Robert Hamblin.
