Jean Houchens

Jean Houchens, age 77 of Park City, KY, passed away peacefully on October 6, 2024, at The Medical Center at Bowling Green. The Barren County native was born on January 12, 1947 to the late Thomas Henry and Anna Maude Taylor Pritchard. She was married to her devoted husband of sixty-two years, Paul Houchens, Sr., and together their lives were filled with many blessings. 

A retired machine operator from Dana Corporation, Jean approached her work with the same dedication that she applied to every aspect of her life. She was saved at Cedar Cliff Church in 1960, and later became a member of Cedar Hill United Baptist Church. Her faith guided her life, and provided her with strength and comfort throughout her journey.

Jean lovingly created beautiful quilts that adorned her home, and warmed the hearts of her family and friends. She enjoyed the fellowship and crafting with her friends in the quilting club. She also enjoyed cooking delicious home-cooked meals, prepared with care and shared during gatherings that brought everyone together. 

Besides her husband, Paul, she leaves to honor her memory —her son, Paul "Bubby" Houchens, Jr. (Lisa) of Smiths Grove; her grandson, Tanner Walker of Park City, along with several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her beloved daughter and son-in-law, Paula and Keith Walker; and her brother, Tommy Prichard, all whom she missed dearly.

Interment will be in Lambert Cemetery.
