Janis Clemmons, age 79, of Brownsville, departed this life on Thursday, May 23, 2024 at her residence. The Edmonson County native was born on August 3, 1944 to the late Roy and Daphene Johnson Musick. She was married to her loving husband, Romie G. Clemmons, until they were parted by his death on May 25, 2020.
Janis was a member of Pleasant Union United Baptist Church, and worked for many years as a cosmetologist. In recent years, she spent most days reading, crocheting, gardening, or going by the cemetery to visit with the love of her life.
She leaves to honor her memory— her daughters, Vickie Wells and Rhonda Clemmons, both of Brownsville; her grandchildren, Mason Wells, Zac Mello (Jaylen) and Megan Kinser (Marcus); her great grandchildren, Drake Kinser and Baby Boy Kinser, expected to arrive in November; sister, Sue Snapp (Kenny); brother-in-law, Larry Clemmons (Danzel), along with several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by her sisters, Irene Gatton, Carolyn Clemmons and four infant siblings.
