1945 - 2021

Janet Sue Poynter, age 76 of Bowling Green, departed this life on Friday, November 26, 2021. The Bullitt County native was born on May 13, 1945 to the late Rev. Wilbur and Melba Lorene Blanton Madison. She was married to Paul W. Poynter, who also preceded her in death.

Janet was a former retail sales clerk for J.C. Penney, and was a hostess at Mammoth Cave National Park Hotel. She was a member of Servant Valley United Baptist Church.

She leaves to honor her memory— one daughter, Sherry Lorene Givens (Stan) of Springfield, TN; one son, Robert Weikel, Jr. (Dana) of Brownsville; three grandchildren, Whitney Hopkins (Randy), Crystal Ware (Luke) and Sgt. Robert Wayne Weikel; four great-grandchildren, Tate Hopkins, Jase Hopkins, Grace-Lynn Hopkins and Isaac Ware; one sister, Kathy Kestel and one sister-in-law, Marie Coats.

Interment will be in Kinser Cemetery.
