James Bolton “Jimmy” Shaw, age 88 of Cave City, KY, departed this life on Sunday, February11, 2024 at The Medical Center at Caverna. The Barren County native was born on June 29, 1935 to the late James Clifton Shaw and Leora Bolton Shaw Locke.
Jimmy served our nation as a captain in the United States Marines. He obtained his bachelor’s degree from Western Kentucky State College, and worked as an entrepreneur in the restaurant, hotel, banking, farming, and travel industries. He was a member of Horse Cave Baptist Church, and the Barren County Cattleman’s Association. Jimmy thoroughly enjoyed traveling, hiking, and viewing all the beauties of the world. He was the ultimate friend, and always willing to offer a helping hand.
He leaves to honor his memory—his cousins, Jennie Waller of Bowling Green, Roger Smith of Cave City and May-Delle Huet of Arizona; dear friends, Creel and Robin Hatcher of Cave City, along with a host of extended family members and friends.

Interment will be in Cave City Cemetery.
