James Floyd Penner, age 80 of Smiths Grove, passed away Saturday, December 22, 2007 at his residence. The Jefferson County native was born January 11, 1927 to the late Austin Penner and Harriet Wingfield Penner of Brownsville. He was a retired machine operator for Eaton, Inc. in Bowling Green, adeacon of New Grove Missionary Baptist Church ordainedin 1955, a World War II Army veteran, a Kentucky Colonel anda member of Nisbet Alexander Memorial Post #6937 VFW. He is also survived by his wife, Beatrice Penner of Smiths Grove; two daughters, Vera Borah (Butch) of Bowling Green and Eva Lynch (Phillip) of Smiths Grove; two grandchildren, Melissa Lynch of Smiths Grove and Lindsey Wilson (Travis) of Smiths Grove and one great grandson, Jacob Wilson. Services will be officiated by Bro. Steve Gipson with graveside service by Nisbet Alexander Memorial Post #6937 VFW at Brownsville cemetery.
