James W. Johnson, age 83, of Brownsville, KY, passed away Saturday, March 16, 2013 at his residence. He was born February 23, 1930, the son of the late Grover and Lydia Madison Johnson and the husband of Georgia Mae Johnson. He was a retired foreman for Gamble Brothers Woodworking, a deputy for Edmonson Co. PVA and a member of New Grove Missionary Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Georgia Mae Johnson of Brownsville, KY; one son, Michael Johnson (Jennifer) of Chalybeate, KY; one step grandson, Elliott Morris of Bowling Green, KY; four sisters-in-law, Navajo Vincent (Kenneth) of Oakland, KY, Evelyn Carroll of Brownsville, KY, Catherine Sue Vincent of Brownsville, KY and Linda Renfrow of Leitchfield, KY; one brother-in-law, Robert Davis of Brownsville, KY and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Oval and Loyd Johnson.
Burial will be in the Beaver Dam Church Cemetery with Bro. Steve Gipson officiating.
