James J. Hogan, 93, of Smiths Grove KY, passed away Sunday, February 23, 2014 in Bowling Green, KY. The Edmonson county native was born December 25, 1920 to the late Johnny and Corda Lindsey Hogan and was the husband of the late Mima Ora Vincent Hogan. He was a WWII Army veteran, a boiler operator for B.F. Goodrich, a farmer and a member of Mt. Zion United Baptist Church.
He is survived by three daughters, Peggy Woodcock (Rumsey) of Brownsville, KY, Ruby Richards of Smiths Grove, KY and Lynn Davis (David) of Brownsville, KY; three brothers, Virgil Hogan and Roma Hogan (Shirley) both of Louisville, KY and Roy Hogan of Roundhill, KY; four sisters, Oma White (Coleman) of Spencer, IN, Pearl Cherry of New Albany, IN, Nora Jane Frost (Bill) of Indianapolis, IN and Mima Jean Lindsey (Stanley) of Louisville, KY; son-in-law, Roy Miller of Charlottesville, IN; seven grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Nancy Miller, four brothers, Leonard, Elmer, Oliver and Otha Hogan and one sister, Orene Sowders.
Funeral service will be officiated by Bro. Tommy Seabolt and Bro. Richard Minton with burial in the Mt. Zion Church Cemetery with graveside military honors by the Nisbet Alexander Memorial VFW Post # 6937.
