James E. Elmore, 87, of Smiths Grove, KY, departed this life on Friday, July 17, 2015 at his residence.  The Edmonson County native was born on May 23, 1928  to the late George Marion and Valerie Self Elmore and was married to the late Louise Hogan Elmore and Dottie Vincent Elmore, who survives.

He was a maintenance machinist for Phillip Morris Tobacco Co. and  a member of Poplar Spring United Baptist Church.

Besides his wife, he leaves to honor his memory— three daughters, Lyndia Beckenbach of Lake City, FL, Brenda James of Brownsville, KY, Deloris Tolle of Chalybeate, KY; one step daughter, Belinda Lindsey (Bill Bob) of Lindseyville, KY; two step sons: John K. Vincent, Jr. (Carolyn) of Bowling Green, KY and Jeffrey G. Vincent (Stephanie) of Huntingdon, TN; two brothers, Michael Elmore (Hilda) of Clarksville, IN and Riley Elmore of Louisville, KY; one sister, Alice Williams of Taylor, MI; nine grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one grandson, Brian Beckenbach and three sisters, Louise Williams, Nelsie Whobrey and Evelyn Vincent.

Interment will be in Hogan Cemetery with Bro. Jerry Vincent and  Bro. Jason Webb  officiating the services.
