James Davis

James Richard Davis, age 81 of Clarksville, IN, passed away Sunday, July 1, 2007 at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville, IN. He was born September 27, 1925 in Sweeden, KY to the late Gilbert M. and Bethel Potter Davis and married to the late Mildred Lindsey Davis. He was the former president of Better Quality Lumber in Clarksville, a 50 year member of  Falls Lodge #749 F&AM , Blazing Bright Chapter #597 OES and a member of Sweeden Missionary Baptist Church. He is survived by one daughter, Bettye Jane Craig; two grandchildren, Jamie Craig and wife Amanda and Lindsey J. Howlett and husband Joe; three great grandchildren, Aidan and Logan Craig and Jonathan Davis Howlett all of Clarksville, IN; two sisters, June Murphy of Lebanon and Norma Jane Harvey of Clarksville, IN; one step grandchild, Nikki Dhillion and husband Robert and their children Jordan and Taylor Dhillion of Clarksville. Services will be officiated by Bro. Jerry Patton with burial in the Sweeden cemetery. Masonic service will be at 7:00 pm EST Tuesday at Chapman Funeral Home.
