Hubert R. Brooks, 95 of Mammoth Cave, KY passed away Friday March 20, 2009. The Edmonson County native was the son of the late Charles Smith Brooks and Late Fannie Bell Priddy Brooks and the husband of the late Goldie Cockerel Brooks. He was retired from E. I. Dupont Co.,a farmer, a Navy veteran and was a deacon, former song leader and clerk of Nolin United Baptist Church.
He is survived by one daughter, Charlotte Carroll (Noel) of Mammoth Cave, KY; one son, Donald Brooks of Elizabethtown, KY; five grandchildren, Gerald Alan Carroll, Mark Brooks, Heather Dunn (Jim), Lisa Londke (Mike), Andrew Brooks (Shannon); two great grandchildren, Jacob Dunn and Lauren Brooks; one brother, Ralph Brooks of Louisville, KY; two sisters, Zula Smith (Nelson) of Mammoth Cave and Eula Thompson of Louisville, KY; fishing buddy, Sam Brooks. He was preceded in death by one son Hubert Franklin "Joe" Brooks, four brothers, four sisters.
Visitation will be 6:00 pm -9:00 pm Saturday, March 21, 2009 at Patton Funeral Home and after 11:00 am Sunday till time of service Monday at Nolin United Baptist Church. Funeral service will be 11:00 am Monday, March 23, 2009 at Nolin United Baptist Church with burial in the Nolin Cemetery with graveside miltary rites. Services will be officiated by Bro. Dave Taylor and Bro. Shane Wilson.
