Howard O. Wells, age 83 of Smiths Grove, passed away Saturday, September 25, 2009 in Glasgow. He was born October 3, 1925 in Cumberland County to the late Don and Pearl Humphrey Wells. He was a carpenter,farmer, World War II Navy veteran, a deacon and former clerk and song leader for Woodland United Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 65 years Elizabeth Wells of Smiths Grove; two sons, Bro. Wayne Wells (Beverly) of Park City and David Wells (Darlene) of Glasgow; three daughters, Wanda Bledsoe (Gurl) of Smiths Grove, Linda Reed of Russellville and Glenda Hankins (Jerry) of Bon Ayr; two brothers, James and Ray Wells of Glasgow; one sister, Marie Tetrey of Indiana; fourteen grandchildren, twenty three great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Stanley and Henry Wells; two sisters, Aline Elmore and Thelma Hankins; one son-in-law, Steve Reed. Services will be officiated by Bro. Verlus Logsdon, Bro. Mark Bellamy and Bro. Trevor Thomas with burial in the Woodland Church Cemetery.
