Horace Madison

Horace "Rocky" Madison, age 84 of Park City, passed away Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at his residence surrounded by his family.
He was born May 6, 1926 in Edmonson County to the late Walter Ray Madison and Julia Kate Rigsby Madison.
He was a World War II Army veteran, member and past president of the Park City Lions Club, former Park City Commissioner and Park City Water Commissioner, member of Park City United Methodist Church where he was the former Sunday School Superintendent, Sunday School Teacher, Chairman of the Administrative Board and choir member. He was also a volunteer firefighter for many years and an avid golfer.
Rocky is survived by his wife of 61 years, Emogene Boyd Madison; one son, Gary David Madison (Betsy) of Bowling Green; one daughter, Peggy Christy (Milton) of Park City; one brother, Edward Murl Madison (Violet) of Rocky Hill; one sister, Jeanette Coates of Bowling Green; four grandchildren, David Madison (Courtney), Chris Madison, Brandon Christy and Lindsay Christy; two step grandchildren, Jacob Stevens (fiance' Cara Florence) and Tyler Stevens; one great granddaughter, Elizabeth Madison, several nieces, nephews and friends and a blessing to all who knew him. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Maurice Madison and one sister, Marguerite Combs.
Services will be officiated by Bro. Paul Frederick with burial in the Evergreen Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Park City United Methodist Church, 67 Mammoth Cave Ave. Park City, KY 42160.
